The Zip Water Bar
Futurebuild 2019, the self-proclaimed ‘home of innovation” took place this week at the ExCeL, London. The event provided a stage for industry leading brands, thought provoking seminars and workshops, unique and never seen before full-scale builds and at the centre of the event, the industry leading Ecobuild conference.
The exhibition is considered a gathering for forward thinking decision makers who come together to be inspire, learn and do business. A stroll around the exhibition hall will grant you the opportunity to visit more 500 leading brands, each showcasing their own products, innovations and solutions to help tackle the challenges facing the built environment and make headway into creating a sustainable environment to live, work and flourish in.
Amongst those exhibiting at this year’s event, Zip Water UK stepped forward as the exclusive event water provider. Not only are Zip considered to be the creator of the worlds most advanced drinking water system, Zip are pioneers in tackling environmental issues and formulating sustainability strategies.
Over the past year Zip have been working hard to tackle plastic waste, targeting businesses directly to help them reduce their plastic waste with their new campaign, “Reuse Refill Refresh’. The campaign offers both insight and solutions, bringing together both the exploration of plastic waste and the means to reduce this through sustainable alternatives.
This being said, Zip will be keeping this year’s visitors to the Futurebuild hydrated. Providing access to the only available water at the show – thanks to organisers committing to make Futurebuild plastic bottle-free – we will be offering filtered chilled and sparkling water from our Water Bar located in the Interiors Zone. Visitors were able to experience the incredible HydroTap, which provides filtered boiling, chilled and sparkling water instantly, and the new HydroChill, a high-capacity system offering filtered chilled and sparkling water.
In article posted on the Zip website, Russel Owens; marketing director, states that “Sustainable design goes so much deeper than just how a building is constructed,” adding that “one element that can easily get overlooked, but ideally needs consideration at the start of a project, is a building’s drinking water supply. Where previously, bulky, unsustainable water coolers were specified, architects and specifiers are now seeking systems that don’t result in any plastic waste.”
“It’s so important that those in a specification role look at mains-fed systems that provide employees with unlimited volumes of filtered drinking water. Having access to water that is enjoyable to drink helps encourage greater hydration which has been proven to impact productivity.”
With their commitment to forward things and sustainable solutions Russel believes that “Futurebuild is a fantastic platform for us to showcase our products to people who really care about sustainability in the workplace”
Here at Envisage we are proud to have worked alongside Zip Water UK, formulating real progress in tackling plastic waste head on and making a difference.
